Two Public IPs, One i-ctrl: Unmatched Simplicity and Control
Netcelero’s latest solution empowers solar farms and other remote sites with two dedicated static IPs on a single i-ctrl device.
This setup leverages Starlink as the primary link with seamless failover and failback to 5/4G, ensuring continuous secure access.
It enables complete network segmentation, for example, SCADA and CCTV, on independent public IPs for improved security and management.
As demand grows for secure, smarter, more resilient remote access solutions, Netcelero continues to lead the way in simplifying complex network challenges. Our latest innovation enables customers, like those in renewable energy or critical infrastructure sectors, to deploy Dual Static Public IPs on a single i-ctrl device, offering unrivalled flexibility and control.
What Is Dual Static Public IP?
Traditionally, remote sites needing multiple public IP addresses would face challenges – cost of multiple subnets, complexity of configuring and maintaining this config, or lack of infrastructure. Now, with Netcelero’s Dual Static IP feature, customers can assign two independent static public IPs to the same i-ctrl unit. This configuration allows for complete network segmentation, such as allocating one IP for a SCADA network and another for CCTV operations.
How It Works
Our solution is designed for robustness and simplicity:
- Starlink serves as the primary connection for both IPs, delivering high speed, high bandwidth and low latency.
- In the event of an outage, automatic failover to a 4G SIM ensures business continuity.
- When Starlink connectivity is restored, failback occurs seamlessly; no user intervention needed.
This design eliminates the need for additional hardware or complex routing, and ensures each IP maintains a persistent path through either the primary or backup channel.
Benefits at a Glance
- Enhanced security through logical separation of critical systems.
- Reduced complexity by managing both connections through a single device.
- Carrier diversity for resilience -Starlink for primary, 5G/4G as backup.
- Plug-and-play deployment – ideal for rural, remote, infrastructure-limited environments.
This setup is especially valuable for solar farms or renewable energy sites, where a SCADA system must remain logically and securely separated from surveillance networks. Each IP acts as an isolated, accessible endpoint – removing risk of lateral movement and ensuring easier compliance with cyber standards.
Industry Use Case: Solar Farm
A leading solar farm recently deployed this configuration, with one static IP handling their energy SCADA data and the other dedicated to on-site CCTV. Both services are now securely accessible remotely via Starlink, and automatically switch to 4G when needed- ensuring uptime and cyber hygiene with minimal intervention.
